By Car

  • Exit A64 at Copmanthorpe (south of York) and follow the signs to Acaster Malbis through Copmanthorpe for about ½ mile past ‘The Royal Oak’ PH.
  • turn left onto ‘Station Road’, continue on to ‘Temple Lane’ for 1 ½ miles, until you reach a crossroads.
  • Turn right onto ‘Appleton Road’ for 1 mile.
  • turn left at the next T junction onto ‘Broad Lane’.
  • Take the next left again. This brings you to ‘Intake Lane’.
  • Go up Intake Lane for ¼ mile until you reach Mount Pleasant Park entrance on your right.
  • Turn into Mount Pleasant Park at their 2nd entrance (not Westfield), go past their office and down Cundall Drive, we are the old Farm House at the end of the road – Mount Pleasant House, call in to get the keys and we will show you round to Orchard Lodge.

By Public Transport

  • Rail ( Arrive at York Station)
  • Taxi – available from the Station
  • Cycles – can be hired from the Station
  • Bus – take Park&Ride (White line) to Askham Bar- 15mins, then C21 hopper bus to Mount Pleasant in Acaster Malbis- 15mins


The National Railway Museum is based in York and features many classic trains, such as The Flying Scotsman (pictured) York Racecourse hosts many horse racing events each year and is within easy reach from Orchard Lodge, on the way into York
